Elba Island Vacation

However, this is the best season to visit Elba and if possible, you should always book your trip sometime during the summer months, because this is the time when the weather is the best and the amount of things to do the highest. Elba Island? Italian fashion wear? Vacation summer?
hello, or shall i say CAIO!! lol well anyway this august i will be spending my time in the Island of Elba right of the coast of Italy, and part of the Tuscan Archipelago. i can not wait. it should be amazing!
As I am getting excited about the weather and fun things to do( if u can name a few that would be AWESOME lol ) i read up online that Italians dont wear shorts…is this true? i dont want to look like a tourist as since my Italian family will be meeting and staying with me in Elba. what are other fashion mishaps that can happen?

Yes, we don’t wear neither shorts nor flip flops in cities, but yes, we wear both shorts and flip flops when we are in the seasides like Elba Island !
Moreover, I suggest you a good solar protection, sunglasses and an hat to protect your head from the sun…
When we are to the seaside we usually wear quite simply, just for nightlife we wear a little bit more elegantly… However I’m not a girl and I can’t give to you good advices about clothes more specifically…
Anyway, don’t be too obsessed by clothes, enjoy your vacation blithely

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Italians know what to wear in any situation…if your out during the evening you will want to wear something fashionable. During the day shorts and flip flops are ok. But like I said I would worry about it. Italians will want to mix w/ you if you look American.
